Our expert physical therapists at Altitude Physical Therapy pride themselves on providing one on one, hands on care. There are three general categories of physical therapy treatment: manual therapy, exercise and functional training and modalities.
Pain should not be something you deal with. We provide many different types of treatment at all our facilities. Learn more about each one below!
Manual Therapy
All of our Physical Therapists at Altitude have a hands-on treatment philosophy. We believe hands-on care is essential for recovery. Our treatment sessions at Altitude PT are one on one with a physical therapist.
Joint mobilization, soft tissue mobilization, myofascial work
and dry needling are all manual techniques our physical therapists are well versed in to help with recovery. We have a strong belief in hands on treatments.
Manual Therapy
Specific Exercise
What sets physical therapy apart from other health professions is the use of a customized exercise program to complement the hands-on manual therapy techniques your physical therapist performs.
Without exercise, the increase in range of motion or decrease in pain that your therapist helped you attain will have difficulty being sustained.
Specific Exercise
Vestibular Therapy
Have you ever heard of the term "vertigo"? Well, it is normally described as the room spinning around you and is one of the symptoms of vestibular dysfunction.
Your physical therapist is skilled at using different techniques and movements to help normalize these signals and bring you back into balance. Let's get off the spinning 'tea-cups' and back to walking a straight line or whatever else you love.

Antigravity Treadmill
Defy gravity! The AlterG anti-gravity treadmill gives you the opportunity to exercise without pain, even while you are still recovering from surgery or injury.
AlterG's unique unweighting technology reduces the impact of walking or running while your body goes through the same healing process. Lower the impact on your joints and muscles during exercise.

Custom Orthotics
Just like fingerprints, every foot is different. For many people, off-the-shelf insoles provide the support your foot needs to function well and reduce pain. However, in some circumstances, custom insoles are required to help complement your foot.
By improving the structure and biomechanics of your foot, your body and the entire kinetic chain will move more efficiently. This has the potential to lead to less pain everywhere.

Sports Performance
There is sometimes a gap between healing an injury and being competition ready. Unfortunately, if a person returns to competition too soon, an injury can reoccur and keep you off the field.
Altitude offers many sports performance services including injury prevention, running assessments, cycling assessments and specific exercise training targeted at the sport you're trying to return to.

Pre-Operative Care
Your pre-operative care is specifically designed by your PT to help you get ready for your surgery. There is a lot of research that shows this will improve your outcomes after surgery.
Pre-operative care helps to mentally prepare you for surgery, reduce inflammation from the current injury, restore strength and motion to help you recover faster after surgery and increases your overall well-being and fitness.

TMD
When you come to PT for jaw pain you might be told you have temporomandibular dysfunction (TMD for short). This just means that something in the joint, or the structures surrounding that joint, isn't functioning properly.
Symptoms of this can be pain, clicking, popping, grinding, clenching or tightness. Treatment often includes a combination of techniques based on findings at your initial evaluation.

Covid-19 Recovery
Recent research has shown that Covid-19 has a significant impact on endurance and respiratory capabilities. The effects of long Covid are also proving to be detrimental.
We have created a 3-part recovery program to help patients regain maximum function. We will assess baseline fitness, initiate an individualized recovery plan and exercise program and reassess fitness to progress the program.
