There's a PT for that!

Half way through the year it is easy to forget about all the resolutions you may have made to take care of your health. You may have started to eat better, drink more water, take your vitamins etc. and you have discovered the phrase "there's an App for that" when trying to keep track of your healthy habits. Well, when looking at improving your health, you should know that there is a PT for that too!

Most people know that you can and should see a physical therapist when you are experiencing acute pain or after surgery etc., but there are many things that PT's can help with that you may not be aware of. I am going to try to provide some insight into some areas of specialty for PT that you may not be aware can be treated with the help of a physical therapist. Most of these specialties can be found at one of our Altitude Physical Therapy clinics!

Vertigo

There are physical therapists who specialize in the treatment of dizziness and vertigo of all causes - BPPV, Meniere's, post-concussion, following travel on a cruise ship etc. They can address the vertigo symptoms and balance disturbances and get you back to functioning without complaints.

Women's Health

This is an important specialty of PT that many don't know exists. If you have pelvic pain, incontinence, are post-partum, are pregnant etc. These specialists can help you.

Neurological

Conditions such as Parkinson's, Multiple Sclerosis, TBI, Stroke, etc can all be treated with the help of a PT to address posture, balance, conditioning, safety etc.

Pediatric

Most PTs are comfortable working with children for sport's rehab, injury prevention, conditioning, balance, etc.

Fall prevention and balance

It is not normal to fall, but many people experience falling due to a variety of conditions such as vertigo, deconditioning, weakness, neuropathy in feet etc. This can be addressed by visiting a PT!

Orthotics

PTs are trained to fit and fabricate custom foot orthotics

Conditioning

PTs are called often called upon to improve strength, conditioning and cardiovascular health after a long illness (such as Covid) or after a fall etc. We can help you progress slowly and safely and by monitoring your vitals and response to treatment to allow you to return to prior level of function.

PT's are here to help you get better. Head to Toe! Colorado is a direct access state, so if you feel that you may benefit from PT, feel free to contact one of our offices and we will be happy to get you set up with the PT that is right for you!
